Sylhet: The police recovered the body of a child named Sammi Akhtar (7) after five days of disappearance in Jokiganj, a bordering upazila of Sylhet.

On Friday (September 09) evening, the locals informed the police station after seeing the body packed in the bushes of Kechari area of ​​the municipal area and the police came and recovered the body.

Deceased Sammi is the daughter of Ajmal Hossain of Manikpur village of Jokiganj Sadar Union and a first class student of the local Bharan Model Government Primary School.

Ajmal Hossain, the father of the deceased child, said that Sammi went to the camp at the old launch ghat of Jokiganj Bazar around Sunday afternoon. He was missing since then. Despite many searches, he was not found. Mikeing is done in the area. A general diary was made at Jokiganj police station that night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jokiganj police station. Mosharraf Hossain said, the body will be handed over to the family after autopsy. An investigation is underway to unravel the mystery of the murder. The police are working to arrest those involved as soon as possible.
