A woman was murdered in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur. The police arrested one of his sons on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
Faridganj Thana OC Md said that the incident took place in Ichapur village of Paikpara South Union of Upazila on Friday afternoon. Saidul Islam said.
Deceased Ranu Begum (55) wife of Atar Khan of that village.
Detained Rachel (22) works in a grocery store in Faridganj market.
Atar Khan, a cook at a local madrasa, said they have three daughters and two sons. The elder son lives in Dhaka. The girls are married.
“The younger son Rachel had been pressuring and threatening the family for marriage for some time. He beat me too. Called me at 2:49 in the afternoon and said, “Who is keeping my mother slaughtered at home?”
He said, “I immediately understood that the boy did this. Immediately I came home and saw the body of my wife Ranu Begum lying on the bed. Son Rachel ran away. Later we inform the police.”
Paikpara South Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Hossain Ahmed Rajan Sheikh said, “I came to the spot. For days, the boy has been threatening his parents to get married. He also said that if he does not marry, he will kill his parents. It needs to be judged.”
OC of Faridganj Police Station. Saidul Islam said that Ranu Begum’s body has been recovered. His son Rachel has been detained. Family members say that the son killed the mother.
The OC said that the murder case is under process in this incident.
