EV Cars: Apart from normal cars, Hyundai Motors is going to step into the world of manufacturing electric vehicles. By 2023, one of the largest car manufacturers, Hyundai, will make a formidable EV portfolio (Hyundai EV). Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chairman Yusoon Chang arrived in India a few days ago and spoke about the company’s long-term and short-term plans. There was also talk about bringing electric vehicles. Instead of premium EVs like the Ioniq 5, Hyundai will focus on locally produced EVs. Hyundai has said it is building the infrastructure to produce 1 million units of EVs annually by 2025.
Talking about the company’s plans to build electric vehicles (Hyundai EV), the Hyundai executive said, ‘We will build EVs tailored to the Indian market. We will further enrich EV infrastructure across the country. We will lead India’s next generation of mobility. Hyundai will play a special role in electrification and thereby build itself as a premium brand.
Other developments include a second Hyundai Motors plant in Pune. It is known that this factory will be established in the middle of next year. Talking about the new EV (Hyundai EV), it is known that Hyundai will bring its first locally produced EV to the Indian market next year. The production of this car will start from the beginning of this year in places like Chennai, Hyderabad etc.
According to Hyundai Motors, it is going to be an electric SUV. It has the same features as the Creta Electric. The Creta Electric is going to be Hyundai’s first locally produced EV. This is Hyundai’s Key going to be a volume player. Hyundai has announced to bring 5 new EVs by 2023. Among which the design, looks, interior, features will be distinctive. And Hyundai has signed an MOU with Exide Energy Solutions for the manufacture of batteries for these cars.
