Wushu is an unconventional sport. However, sometimes Ushukara brings good news to the international arena. Bangladesh won six medals including two silvers in the tournament held in Jiangsu, China. As a result of winning this medal, the red and green Ushukaras are getting a chance to play in the Sanda World Cup held in Australia.
Sukant Roy in -85kg and Nayan Sheikh in -48kg won the silver in the men’s category of the Sanda International tournament held in China. Apart from this, Milan Ali won bronze medals in men’s -60 kg, Eva Yasmin in -52 kg, Shikha Khatun in -56 kg and Kochi Rani Mondal in -75 kg.
Bangladesh has secured 15th place among 36 countries. As a result, the red and green Ushukara have qualified to play in the Sanda World Championship held in Melbourne, Australia on November 11-22.
General Secretary of Wushu Federation Dulal Hossain said about the success and future plans, ‘Boys and girls have achieved great results in Wushu’s shrine. 36 countries competed against Ushukas and won six medals. Ushukara will continue to practice intensively to bring medals for the country in the Sanda World Cup.’
