The Metrorail will officially start its journey on the coming Victory Day (December 16). Dhaka Traffic Coordination Authority (DTCA) has published the full fare list of Metrorail. The list was published in a DTCA circular on Thursday (September 8).
According to the published list, there are seven stations from Diabari to Agargaon, the fare to cover this distance is Rs 60.
According to the distance between Diabari and Uttara Center and Uttara South station, the fare is Tk 20, which is the minimum fare of the railways. Apart from this, the fare from Diabari to Pallabi and Mirpur-11 stations is 30 taka, the fare from Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations is 40 taka and the fare from Sheorapara station is 50 taka.
Again, if you get off at any station from Pallabi to Mirpur-11 or Kazipara, you have to pay Tk 20 fare. However, if you get off at any station in Sheorapara or Agargaon from Pallabi, you have to pay Tk 30.
Meanwhile, the fare from Mirpur-10 to Farmgate is Tk 30, Kawran Bazar is Tk 40, Shahbagh and Dhaka University is Tk 50. To go from the same distance to Secretariat or Motijheel will cost 60 taka. But to go to Kamalapur, you have to pay another 10 taka more fare.
On the way back from Kamalapur to Dhaka University 20 Taka at any station, Shahbagh and Kawran Bazar 30 Taka, Farmgate 40 Taka, Vijay Sarani and Agargaon 50 Taka, Sheorapara 60 Taka, Kazipara and Mirpur-10 stations till 70 Taka, Mirpur-11 and Pallabi 80 taka and 90 taka fare till Uttara Diabari i.e. the last station.
According to Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) company sources, there will be a 10 percent discount if these fares are paid by smart card. Weekly, monthly, family cards have to be purchased in advance for rail travel. Apart from this, the card can be recharged through the machine at any station. Additional fare must be paid to the officials at the station if traveling in excess of the fare.
