The last working day of the week Thursday (September 22) in the stock market of the country saw a mixed trend in the indices, although the share prices of most companies rose. The main stock market Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) edged higher but the index comprised of selected good companies fell. Also, the volume of transactions has decreased.

Earlier last Tuesday (September 20), DSE saw the highest trading volume in a year. The transaction in the market increased to 2 thousand 832 crore 30 lakh taka. The index fell sharply on Wednesday (September 21) after trading at a record. Also reduced transactions.

Thursday’s trading fell further. 1 thousand 666 crore 13 lakh taka was traded in the market throughout the day. 1 thousand 808 crore 19 lakh taka was traded on the previous day. Accordingly, the transaction has decreased by 142 crore 6 lakh taka.

On this day, trading in DSE began with the increase in share prices of most companies. The share prices of most companies continued to rise towards the end of trading. However, at some point in the trading, the share price of most of the large capitalization companies fell. The index becomes negative.

At the end of the session, the main index was saved from falling as the share prices of some large-cap companies rose. However, the index consisting of selected good companies was not spared from the fall.

Shares and unit prices of 131 companies participating in trading on DSE increased during the day compared to the previous day. On the contrary, the price of 78 has decreased. And the price of 166 remains unchanged. In this, the main index of DSE DSEX increased by 12 points to 6 thousand 564 points compared to the previous day.

The DSE-30 index, which consists of 30 companies, is down 9 points compared to the previous day at 2,365 points. And DSE Shariah increased by 37 points to 1 thousand 436 points compared to the previous day.

Orion Pharma’s shares were the most traded in terms of rupees on DSE. Shares of the company have been traded for Tk 195 crore 40 lakhs. Beximco, which is in second place, has a turnover of Tk 152 crore 27 lakh. Bangladesh Shipping Corporation is in the third place with a share transaction of Tk 92 crore 29 lakh.

Besides, the list of top ten companies in terms of transactions on DSE includes- JMI Hospital and Requisite Manufacturing, Shahjibazar Power, Acme Laboratories, Unique Hotel, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, Bashundhara Paper and Eastern Housing.

The other stock market Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) overall price index CASPI increased by 25 points. 99 crore 84 lakh taka has been traded in the market. 91 of the 261 institutions that participated in the transaction rose in price. On the contrary, the price of 63 has decreased and the price of 107 has remained unchanged.
