International Maritime Organization (a specialized agency of the United Nations), nominated by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMEST London), Naval Eng. Dr. Sajid Hussain has been reappointed as the 29th IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador (IMOGMA) worldwide for another 2 years (2024-2025).
On Tuesday (April 23) at the IMO headquarters in London, the Secretary General of the organization, Arsenio Dominguez, officially appointed the Naval Commissioner. Sajid was awarded this certificate.
As a maritime ambassador of IMO since 2016, Dr. Sajid is on duty. At the same time he has been well-known as the spokesperson of IMO through lectures, seminars, social media and mass media and the opportunities of sea and ocean-based careers among young students.
Notably, he served as Commandant of Bangladesh Marine Academy (Chittagong) for 14 years: 30 years including 2009-2023, 13 years in sea-going vessels (1980-1993: up to the rank of Chief Engineer) and as a member of the Board of Governors of the World Maritime University in Sweden. did His publications include 1 thesis, 26 books, 40 research papers and 250 articles.
