TMC MLA: BJP claims that such posters are given because the MLA is not seen in the area. However, the MLA claims that it is the work of the opposition.

The poster read the name of the MLA

Hooghly: Looking for MLA. A similar poster in the name of Ratna De Nag was seen in Pandua in Hooghly. At the bottom of the poster is written ‘Samaj Kalyan Samiti’. However, it is the opponents of the MLA who have given such posters. The Trinamool leadership claimed that it is not clear why such posters were given. It is alleged that the poster was seen in Bonepara area of Pandua on Friday.

On the other hand, when this poster was seen in Pandua on Friday, a meeting was organized at the Trinamool party office in that area. MLA Ratna De Nag was seen standing next to Hooghly Srirampur organizational district president Arindam Guin.

Regarding the poster, the district president of Trinamool said, ‘This is where the MLA is sitting. He comes here every week. This is his party office.’ He claimed that it does not matter who said what about this, who put up the poster. He also raised a question about who killed the poster called Samaj Kalyan Samiti. He said, ‘They don’t even know what welfare they do for the society. He went down to catch fish in the muddy water.’

It may be noted that Ratna de Nag is a resident of Srirampur. He was defeated by BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee in Hooghly constituency in 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Later, Ratna became a candidate from Pandua in the 2021 assembly elections. He won and got a place in the cabinet. Recently he was removed from the ministry.

Regarding that poster, Ratna De Nag said, ‘For 40 years, the leftist MLA was here. After 40 years people of Pandua voted Trinamool and won. So what did you win? I can’t say who killed the poster.’

In this context, the Hooghly district secretary of BJP claimed that the people of the area cannot see the MLA of the area in Pandua, that is mentioned on the wall. He also mentioned that opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari has a meeting in Pandua on September 11. Maybe that’s why the people there tried to highlight that.
