Former US President Donald Trump has claimed that he will be arrested on Tuesday next week. He also called on supporters to protest to prevent the arrest.
Trump made this claim in a blog post on his social media app Truth Social on Saturday.
The former president of the United States has expressed his fear that he may be arrested in the case of the accusation of secretly paying him to cover up the incident of sexual relations with the former porn star Stormy Daniels.
If Trump is indicted, it would be the first criminal case against a former president in U.S. history. A spokeswoman for the Manhattan attorney’s office declined to comment.
Trump said, without any evidence, that he was tipped to be arrested in “illegal documents” leaked by the Manhattan district attorney’s office. However, he did not say anything about what charges will be brought against him.
In a blog post, the former president accused the Manhattan District Attorney’s office of being corrupt and highly politicized.
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump allegedly paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep her mouth shut. He was given the money unethically after rumors spread about his relationship with the porn star.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office began prosecuting Trump earlier this year. Daniels’ real name is Stephanie Clifford.
She says she had a relationship with Trump a decade ago. However, Trump has denied the allegations of this relationship.
