Kolkata Knight Riders will be hoping for another positive result at home to consolidate their position at the top of the table when they take on Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens in Hyderabad on April 25.
Currently second in the table with 10 points, KKR’s success rate is good, winning five out of seven games. This is mainly due to his high batting skills, often scoring over 200 points.
KKR will be playing their fourth consecutive home match, with a record of two wins and one loss in the previous three matches.
The last match total was 443 runs as the hosts defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by one run.
KKR’s top order is in good form with Sunil Narine (286), Phil Salt (249), skipper Shreyas Iyer (190) and Andre Russell (155). Despite the huge investment, the bowlers failed to perform at the expected level even with the addition of Mitchell Starc, who was bought for a record Rs 2,475 crore.
The journey so far has not been satisfactory for the ninth-placed Kings. The team has lost six of their last four matches and eight games in total. The home team is hoping to turn the tables.
