Tongi Naval Police recovered the floating body of a university student from the Turag River in Palashona area of ​​Ward No. 36 of Gazipur metropolis on Monday afternoon.

The deceased’s name is Moazzer bin Alam (24). He was an honors final year student of North South University.

Son of Rezaul Alam Hero of House No. 123, Road No. 10, Bashundhara F Block, Bhatara Police Station, Moajj Capital.

Zaheer Uddin, uncle of the deceased, said that Muazzer bin Alam, a final year honors student of North South University’s economics department, told his mother on the mobile phone from the university on Saturday that he would go to Panchagarh with his friends. He has been missing ever since.

According to the police station sources, on Monday afternoon in Palashona area of ​​Gazipur metropolis, the locals saw the body floating in the river and informed the GMP Gacha police station. The police went to the spot and informed the relatives on the basis of the mobile phone and identity card in his pocket. Later the relatives went to the spot and identified the body. Naval police recovered the body at 2 pm and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Md. Hazrat Ali, in charge of Tongi naval outpost, said that the body was found in a mutilated condition. The body has been sent to the morgue to unravel the mystery of the death. Legal action in this regard is under process.
