Dhaka: The Chamber Court of the Appellate Division suspended the bail granted by the High Court to a young man named Raju of Thakurgaon in a Digital Security Act case on charges of publishing obscene pictures of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Facebook.

On Wednesday (September 21), the Appellate Division Chamber Judge M Inayetur Rahim’s bail was suspended after hearing the state’s plea seeking suspension of the High Court’s bail order.

On April 8, 2021, the police filed a case under the Digital Security Act against Raju, son of Mosharof Hossain Mucha of Belsara area of ​​Baliadangi police station in Thakurgaon.

According to the complaint, the photos of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi were combined and edited to create two pictures in a visual, indecent and ugly manner and posted on Facebook on March 29, 2021. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh and India has been defamed due to this picture post. Raju was later arrested in this case.

After being denied bail by the lower court, he applied for bail in the High Court. The High Court granted him bail last Tuesday (September 20). After that, the state applied to the Chamber Court of the Appellate Division seeking suspension of the bail. After the hearing on Wednesday, the Chamber Court of the Appellate Division has suspended his bail until October 31, Assistant Attorney General said. Saiful Alam
