About 20 years ago Syeda Tanya Mahbub Tinni, the popular model and actress of the 90s, was murdered. But the trial of his murder case is not over. Ghulam Farooq Abhi, the former Member of Parliament of Barisal-2 seat of Jatiya Party, has not been arrested. On the night of November 10, 2002, his body was found next to Pillar No. 11 of China Friendship Bridge No. 1 of Buriganga River in Keraniganj. Model Tinni’s murder case is being tried in Dhaka’s Seventh Additional District Sessions Judge’s Court.
In this regard, Bhola Nath Dutta, public prosecutor of Dhaka’s Seventh Additional District and Sessions Judge Court, told Dhaka Times that Tinni’s uncle Syed Rezaul Karim testified in the court after a long time. Earlier Tinni’s father Syed Mahbub Karim testified in court. The next date for the case is likely to be late November.
On March 23 this year, Tinni’s uncle Syed Rezaul Karim testified in the court of Dhaka’s Seventh Additional District and Sessions Judge Keshav Roy Chowdhury. Earlier on January 5, Tinni’s father Syed Mahbub Karim testified in court.
the whole the family London:
After the murder of model Syeda Tanya Mahbub Tinni, the whole family is left in shambles. At that time, Tinni was the mother of a girl child. Her daughter was one and a half years old. As such, the age of the girl is currently 21 years. After the death of the mother, where is the girl now? Who are Tinni’s parents living with?
Model Tinni’s only daughter now lives abroad with her father. The twins were two sisters, the younger sister an air hostess. Tinni’s father spent his career abroad but now lives alone in the country. Tinni’s mother left her husband and went to Pakistan. Meanwhile, the family was forced to sell the house in Kalabagan, where the Tinnis lived, due to the fear of Abhi (accused of Tinni’s murder). This is how a well-arranged family is torn apart by a murder.
Model Tinney’s body was found on the night of November 10, 2002 but was not identified at first. The next day (November 11), the then assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Keraniganj police station filed a case against the unnamed accused. Safi Uddin The first investigation officer of the case was the then Deputy Inspector (SI) of that police station. Qayyum Ali Sardar.
Later, when the body was identified as Tinni’s, the case was handed over to the CID on November 24, 2002, citing sensationalism. CID Inspector Sujaul Haque, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Golam Mostafa, ASP Armaan Ali, ASP Kamal Krishna Bharadwaj and ASP Mozammel Haque have been assigned the responsibility of investigating the case. The last investigating officer, Mozammel Haque, filed a charge sheet in the court on November 8, 2008, making former student leader and parliamentarian Ghulam Farooq Abhi the sole accused.
In this case, the former Jatiya Party MP Golam Farooq Abhi was initially accused in the police investigation, but the police could not arrest him. In Abhi’s absence, on July 14, 2010, the Seventh Additional District and Sessions Judge of Dhaka filed a complaint against Abhi in the case of murder and missing body. 41 people were made witnesses in the charge sheet of the Tinni murder case. Apart from this, 22 evidences were seized in this case.
who this Abhi ?
Ghulam Farooq Abi emerged during the regime of former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad. He was very brilliant as a student. Signed Merit at board level in SSC and HSC. Abhi got Ershad’s attention to stop the mass movement of the 90s. At that time there were various charges against him including kidnapping and ransom and extortion. He raised his own cadre force. At one stage he was arrested. However, he was released from prison in early December at the peak of the mass movement of the 90s. After his release, he established a reign of terror in the entire Dhaka University area. Later he moved abroad.
Where is Abhi now? In 2007, the International Police Organization (Interpol) issued a red notice against Ghulam Farooq Abhi, the Ferrari accused in the sensational Tinni murder case. However, even after 15 years, Interpol could not report any information about him to the Bangladesh Police Headquarters.
According to a source at the police headquarters, after issuing an Interpol red notice, the application has to be reapplied every five years. After that, on January 19, 2012, when an application was filed against Abhi from the police headquarters, the Interpol red notice was issued again.
But Interpol could not give any information about him to Bangladesh Police. Again five years of that red notice is completed. Then on January 1, 2017, when he applied again, on February 2 of the same year, Interpol issued a red notice against Abhi. It will remain in force till 2022.
Although Interpol failed to provide any information against Ghulam Farooq Abhi to the Bangladesh Police even after 15 years, the accused of the sensational murder case, Ghulam Farooq, has been speaking through video conference at the Eid congregation in his own area, the locals said. But no one can say which country Abhi is in at the moment.
According to a source, Abhi is now staying in Canada. However, the source did not want to say which city in Canada he lives in.
In this regard, Ehsan Sattar, Assistant Inspector General of the Interpol Branch of the Police Headquarters, told Dhaka Times, “I do not have any information about the complaint.” I’m new here.
