Cousin Chhabbir handed over a seven-year-old cousin to his friends for rape in a contract of only seven thousand rupees. Later, along with his friends, he also raped his cousin. After that, when the child told about the rape, they all killed him. Later everyone ran away leaving the body behind.
After seven years, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has revealed the mystery of the gang-rape and murder of a seven-year-old child in Chauhali Upazila of Sirajganj. Chhabbir Hossain (20) and Shakeel Khan (21), the uncles of the two accused children arrested by the police, gave such information during interrogation. They also gave a statement under section 164 in the court.
PBI Police Superintendent Rezaul Karim gave this information in a press conference at Sirajganj PBI office at around 11:00 on Monday (April 22).
Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim said that in 2017, the child went to see a cultural program on the occasion of Independence Day at Dattakandi High School ground in Chauhali Upazila. There, Milan Pasha, son of Rashid Member of Dattakandi village and other accused saw the child with Chhabbir Hossain. Then the accused planned to rape the child. They offered to pay 7000 taka to Chhabbir Hossain for raping the child. Agreeing to the proposal, Chhabbir Hossain took the child to the Madhya Shimulia fodder crop field. There everyone including Chhabir gang-raped the child. At this time, the child kept crying and repeatedly said that he would tell everyone about the incident. The rapists then planned to kill the child and suffocated her with a veil and left the body behind. In this incident, the child’s father filed a case with the police station accusing unknown persons. Later, PBI was entrusted with the investigation of the case.
The PBI reviewed the post-mortem report and post-mortem report of the deceased child and found that the child was strangulated to death. A DNA test also found the presence of semen on the clothing worn by the child.
PBI confirmed through information technology and intelligence information and arrested the child’s cousin Chhabbir Hossain from Shyamoli in Dhaka on April 19 and interrogated him. Later, based on the information given by him, a youth named Shakib Khan was arrested from Dattakandi of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila. Later they admitted the responsibility of the murder and gave a statement under section 164 in the court. Later the court sent them to jail.
PBI Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim told Dhaka Post that the accused did not give her cousin Chhabir 7,000 rupees for rape, but the accused did not give him that money. Chhabir also rapes and kills his cousin himself along with others. An operation is underway to arrest the rest of the accused in this incident.
