The procurement price of boro paddy has been fixed at Tk 32, parboiled rice at Tk 45, atap rice at Tk 44 and wheat at Tk 34. The inner borough collection will start from May 7 and will continue till August 31.

This price was decided in the meeting of food planning and distribution committee in the meeting room of the cabinet in the secretariat today. Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumdar presided over the meeting.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam, Agriculture Minister Md Abdus Shahid, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md Mohibbur Rahman, State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam (Titu) and State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Begum Rokeya Sultana in the committee meeting. took part Secretaries of various ministries were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, the target of collection of 5 lakh tonnes of paddy, 11 lakh tonnes of parboiled rice, 1 lakh tonnes of Atap rice and 50 thousand tonnes of wheat has been set for the upcoming Boro collection 2024 season. The procurement price of boro paddy has been fixed at Tk 32, parboiled rice at Tk 45, atap rice at Tk 44 and wheat at Tk 34. Note that in 2023, the collection price of rice per kg was Tk 30, boiled rice Tk 44 and wheat Tk 35.
