Kolkata: Voting for the second phase of India’s Lok Sabha elections ended on Wednesday. The second phase of polling will be held next Friday (April 26).

In this phase, 12 states including West Bengal and one union territory will be polled in a total of 89 constituencies.

The constituencies include 1 seat in Manipur, all 20 seats in Kerala, 14 in Karnataka, 13 in Rajasthan, 8 each in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, 7 each in Madhya Pradesh, 5 each in Assam and Bihar, 3 each in West Bengal and Chhattisgarh and 1 each in Tripura and Jammu-Kashmir.

The first phase of polling ended on April 19 amid sporadic unrest. Now waiting for the second phase on April 26.

On April 19, polling was held in 102 constituencies in 17 states and 4 Union Territories. In the first phase, the voter turnout in India is about 63 percent. Bengal is an exception. In the first phase, 77 percent votes were cast in these three centers of Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and Alipurdua in West Bengal. On April 19, women voted the most in Jalpaiguri constituency.

This Lok Sabha election will be held in seven phases. It will last for about two months. Voting will end on June 1. Election results announced on June 4.

In the second phase, 89 constituencies of India are voting in 13 states

1. Voting in 3 centers in West Bengal; Darjeeling, Raiganj and Balurghat.
2. Voting in 5 constituencies in Assam; Karimganj, Silchar, Mangaldai, Nagaon and Kaliabar.

3. Voting in 5 constituencies of Bihar; Kishanganj, Kathihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur and Banka.

4. Chhattisgarh voting in 3 constituencies; Rajnandgaon, Mahasamundas and Kanker.

5. Karnataka has 14 constituencies to vote. The state has constituencies in Chikkodi, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Gulbarg, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davanagere, Shimoga.

6. There are 20 constituencies to vote in the state of Kerala. The constituencies that have polls are Kasargod, Kannur, Vadakara, Waynad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Ponnani, Palakkad, Alathur, Thrissur, Chalakudy, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Mabelikkara, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, Attingal, Thingal.

7. Voting in 7 constituencies of Madhya Pradesh is in the second phase. There are polls in Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad, Betul.

8. There are 8 constituencies to vote in Maharashtra. Polling is held in Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, Parvani.

9. Rajasthan has 13 constituencies to vote. Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota, and Jhalawar-Baran.
10. Polling will be held in one seat in Manipur i.e. Outer Manipur.

11. Tripura also has polling in one seat. Polling will be held in Tripura East.

12. In Uttar Pradesh, the second phase of voting is held in 8 constituencies. Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathure.

13. Polling will be held in Jammu in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
