May be arrested on Tuesday: Trump

Former US President Donald Trump is facing arrest in a case involving payments to a former porn star.

On Saturday, Trump said on the Truth social platform that he may be arrested next Tuesday. He urged the supporters to protest against it.

According to the BBC, Trump allegedly paid porn star Stormy Daniels to keep her mouth shut before the 2016 presidential election.

New York prosecutors have been investigating the allegations for the past five years.

Stormy Daniels alleges that Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about their affair before the 2016 election.

However, Trump has completely denied this allegation. He said there was no sexual relationship between them and the case was ‘politically motivated’.

The district attorney’s office has not yet commented on the matter.

Trump’s lawyer Susan Necheles told CBS News that Trump made the post on social media based on media reports.

“Trump’s attorneys were supposed to be contacted earlier in the general case. But instead everything is being leaked to the press,’ he said.

If Trump is arrested, it will be the first time in history that a US president has been arrested on criminal charges.

This will have serious implications for Trump’s campaign to become the Republican nominee in the 2024 presidential election.

Several cases are currently under investigation against the 76-year-old former president. Although none of the allegations have been proven yet. Trump has denied every accusation leveled against him
