They said that all children engaged in labor are subjected to abuse in one way or another. The majority of domestic workers are children and the rate of abuse is high, so the leaders of the organization demanded that domestic labor be listed as child labour.
This information was disclosed in a press conference titled ‘Bangladesh Child Situation 2022: From the Pages of Newspapers’ held at Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Auditorium of National Press Club on Tuesday. MJF Coordinator Rafeza Shaheen presented this report at the press conference. He said that the rate of child marriage has decreased by 94 percent in one year. In 2021, news of 41 thousand 95 child marriages were published in 23 districts of the country. In 2022 it decreased to 2 thousand 301. The report states that the rate of child rape has decreased by 31.5 percent in one year.
