Sabbir Ahmed is the country manager of three Visa countries

Visa has appointed Sabbir Ahmed as Country Manager for Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.

Prior to joining Visa, he served as Managing Director and Head of Wealth and Retail Banking at Standard Chartered Bangladesh.

Prior to that, he held senior positions at HSBC and British American Tobacco in Bangladesh and Vietnam.

With over 27 years of experience in banking and payments in Bangladesh and Vietnam, Sabbir Ahmed will lead Visa’s market operations in the three countries.

Sabbir Ahmed said, ‘I am looking forward to playing an important role in the implementation of the vision of cashless Bangladesh set by the government.’

By hiring him, Visa is targeting growth in the digital payments landscape across South Asia.
