Eight people were killed in road accidents at different places. Among the dead are two persons in a head-on collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw in Boalkhali Upazila of Chittagong, two persons including a child in Lohagara of Narail, a teenager who lost control of a motorcycle in Noakhali, two students of Chuet in a bus-motorcycle collision in Rangunia of Chittagong and a Chhatra Dal leader who was hit by a truck in Natore.
According to the Chittagong Bureau, two people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Boalkhali Upazila of Chittagong. The police said that the deceased were the driver and passenger of the autorickshaw. The accident took place on Monday morning at Arena Garment Junction near Shakpura Rayakhali Bridge.

The deceased are autorickshaw driver Mohammad Delwar Hossain (28) and passenger Mizanur Rahman (30). Delwar’s house is in Chandupur district and Mizan’s house is in Lalkhan Bazar of Khulshi police station in Chittagong city.
Achhab Uddin, OC of Boalkhali police station, said that Mizanur Rahman was going to sell fish in Gomdandi Fultal market by auto rickshaw from Fisherighat of the city. The sand laden truck was heading from Boalkhali to Patia. Autorickshaw driver Delwar was killed on the spot in the head-on collision. After taking Mizanur to Boalkhali Upazila Health Complex, doctors declared him dead. The OC said that the truck driver fled after the incident. Trucks and autorickshaws have been seized.

Narail representative said that Feroza Begum (50) and child Nitun Zira (7) were killed in two road accidents in Lohagara of Narail. The accident happened last Sunday afternoon. Police and local residents said that around 11:30 am on Sunday, Feroza Begum, a resident of that village, was killed in a road accident while coming from Kumdi village of Lohagara upazila on an easy bike to the upazila headquarters. The easybike lost control and hit a tree on the way. On that day, Nitun Zira, who was visiting his maternal home in Parmallikpur village of Lohagarh, was hit by an easy bike while crossing the road. At that time, Nitun Jira was injured after falling from the road. He was first taken to Lohagarh Upazila Health Complex. When the condition worsened, he died on the way to Khulna. In this regard, Inspector (Investigation) of Lohagarh Police Station Abdullah Al Mamun said that two people were killed in two separate road accidents. Police have seized an easy bike in the case of child drowning in Parmallikpur.

According to Noakhali office, a teenager named Mohammad Ashiq (16) died after losing control of his motorcycle in Noakhali’s Subarnachar. The accident took place in Al Amin Bazar area of ​​Charjabbar Union of the upazila yesterday at 3:30 pm. The deceased Ashiq is the son of Haji Idris Mia of West Charjabbar village of Charjabbar union. According to local sources, around noon, Ashiq left on a motorcycle to feed water to their buffaloes. On the way, the reckless speeding motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree at Al Amin Bazar intersection. He was seriously injured. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital where he died. Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Charjabbar police station, said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving the information.

Rangunia-Kaptai (Chittagong) Correspondent said that two students of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE) were killed in a bus-motorcycle collision in Rangunia, Chittagong. The deceased are Shanta (23) and Md Taufiq (22). The incident took place in Chittagong-Kaptai road yesterday afternoon in Jianagar area of ​​thermal power station. It is known that a motorcycle from Rangunia towards Chuet and a Shah Amanat bus service coming from Chittagong Bahaddarhat towards Rangunia collided head on. The accident took place at Zolarbata area of ​​Singra on the Natore-Bogra highway yesterday at 4 pm on Monday. The deceased Chhatra Dal leader is the son of Ismail Hossain of Kakian village of the upazila. Police seized the killer truck after the incident. Singra Police Station OC Abul Kalam said that on Monday afternoon, a mini truck going to Bogra hit a motorcycle and fell on the side of the road in Jolarbata area of ​​Singra. A young man named Ilyas Hossain alias Rony, who was riding a motorcycle, was killed on the spot. At that time, the passenger of the motorcycle, the cousin of the deceased Mannaf Hossain was injured. In this incident, the driver of the truck was absconding, but the truck was seized and taken to the police station.
