Nachiketa gained popularity in the early nineties. His first song album is ‘Ae Besh Bho Achi’. Though born in Kolkata, Nachiketa’s roots are in Bangladesh. His grandfather Lalit Mohan Chakraborty left Bangladesh before 1946 and migrated to India. Nachiketa studied at Maharaja Manindra Chandra College in South Kolkata. Music practice since then. Nachiketa challenged the so-called genre of Bengali songs. Along the path of Kabir Suman, he brought another trend in the world of Bengali music. Nachiketa searched for the songs where a whole story can be told in the melody of the song, the difficult reality of the society can be highlighted.
