DMP Commissioner has ordered the police to be on maximum alert in view of Durga Puja

DMP News: DMP Commissioner Moha Shafiqul Islam, BPM (Bar) has ordered all the police units of DMP to be on maximum alert to complete the upcoming Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Hindus in a safe and peaceful environment. He said that we all have to work hard during the puja so that no untoward incident happens in the pujamandap of Dhaka city.

The commissioner said these things at the monthly crime review meeting for the month of August 2022 at the DMP headquarters on Wednesday (21 September 2022) morning.

The commissioner said that Ansar members will remain permanently in the puja mandap this year. He ordered the police to remain in the puja mandap during the puja.

He also said that if the political program is carried out peacefully, the police will not prevent it, but strict legal action will be taken against those who commit arson in the name of politics. One must also be wary of some people working to increase conflict in the political agenda. He also asked to keep an eye on these marches and meetings so that no loss of life occurs.

Arrest warrant tamil, case investigation, recovery of stolen cars, drug recovery and disposal of original cases are more important. He also said to work on arresting drug dealers to prevent evasion.

At the beginning of the monthly crime review meeting, the Khatwari crime picture or crime report of the last month of August is reviewed. He gave various important directions to all concerned to maintain law and order and keep the crime situation under control.

In the meeting, the DMP Commissioner awarded the best police officers in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order and public safety in Dhaka city.

Tejgaon Division and Mirpur Division jointly became the first among the 8 crime divisions of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in the monthly crime review meeting of August. But Uttara Division has been the best in Warrant Tamil. Mohammadpur police station is the best police station. Mujib Ahmed Patwari, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mohammadpur Zone, Tejgaon Division, became the first among the Assistant Commissioners of Police. Police Inspector (Investigation) Md. Kamrul Hossain became the first among the police inspectors. Mohammadpur Police Inspector (Operations) Md Tofazzal Hossain became the first among the Police Inspectors (Operations).

SI Noor Uddin-1 of Chowkbazar Model Police Station and SI Md Saiful Islam of Pallabi Police Station were jointly selected as the best SI. SI Nur Uddin-1 of Chowkbazar Model Police Station was the first to recover the explosives. SI Sujan Kumar Talukdar of Paltan police station became the best in recovering drugs and SI Jyotimoy Mallick of Lalbagh police station stood first in recovering stolen cars.

Among the 9 Intelligence Divisions, the Gulshan Division is the first. Debashish Karmakar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Illegal Arms Recovery and Drug Control Team of Detective Gulshan Division was selected as the best team leader. Md Shahidur Rahman, PPM, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police of Khilgaon Zonal Team of Detective Motijheel Division became the best team leader in recovering weapons. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Badruzzaman Zillu, BPM, Uttara Zonal Team of Detective Uttara Division, is the best team leader in recovering narcotics. Assistant Commissioner of Police Mahfuzur Rahman of the Organized Crime and Car Theft Prevention Team of Detective Wari Division became the best team leader in recovering stolen cars. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Md. Abu Ashraf Siddiqui of Wari Zonal Team of Intelligence Wari Division is the best team leader in rescuing the unconscious/malam party.

Traffic Lalbagh Division is the first among the 8 traffic divisions. Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohammad Raisul Islam of Kotyali Traffic Zone of Traffic Lalbagh Division was the Best Assistant Police Commissioner. Md. Shafiqul Islam, Traffic Inspector of Sabuj Bagh Traffic Zone of Traffic Motijheel Division became the best traffic inspector. Md. Abdul Quader, Mohammadpur Traffic Zone Sergeant of Traffic Tejgaon Division became the best sergeant.

Also, special awards were given to 120 officers and forces of various ranks and 10 departments including media and PR department of DMP.

In addition to the analysis of the crimes that occur every month, the instructions related to the next steps and strategies in crime control, the DMP commissioner adds points to the activities of each month to increase the motivation of the field level policemen and officials in the next month’s monthly crime review meeting.
