The langarkhana of the High Court shrine has been running for about 700 years. There is a crowd of scattered people in the shrine square at noon to get a full meal. The High Court Shrine and Mosque Administration Committee arranges food for these homeless people throughout the year including Eid and New Year.

Selina. Age around 55′. Entering the shrine at 7 in the morning, Khadem worked all day long, doing various cuttings including onion-garlic-ginger used in the cooking of devotees who came to the shrine.

This work is done voluntarily, not in exchange for money. However, Selina, who has spent 26 years in the shrine, is satisfied with the fact that she is getting two meals from the shrine.

She said, “My husband was addicted to gambling and could not keep the house rent. Later I was brought to the shrine of the High Court. I’m fine Only lack of houses, nothing else is lacking.”

Like Selena, there are countless fans who have volunteered their time here. Those who don’t have their own houses, shrines are their address.

There is always a crowd of devotees at the shrine of Hazrat Shah Khwaja Sharfuddin Chishti of the High Court. It is said that when Khwaja Sharfuddin Chishti used to eat here 700 years ago, many people took food with him every day. Management has been going on since then.

The cook said, government people eat, private people also eat. Fakir-mostans also eat it. Around one and a half thousand people, including rickshaw pullers and wheelbarrow drivers, eat along the line.”

The current committee has taken various initiatives including food and health care for the people who come and live in the shrine.

Supreme Court Shrine and Mosque Administration Committee Member Justice Md. Khosruzzaman said, “Every day, two meals are served here with beef and chicken meat. Rice is served two days a week and khichuri-tehari-biryani for the other five days.”

The committee takes various steps for the needy people throughout the year.
