GSIC election vs Awami ego

--

singJeepur City Corporation election is a tough message. Of course, Awami League leaders and activists have received such messages many times. They don’t seem to take them very seriously. Rather than depending on the people for public opinion, they may have increased their reliance on the police, administration and more. Although I don’t know about this, there is enough logical reason to think and imagine the matter in the observation and observation of various recent events.

A few days ago, I went to the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka for a regional organization event. Three such ministers from Sylhet Division participated there. Talked more or less with everyone. I avoid such events lately. How do you know a feudal behavior everywhere. The bare footing of the powerful gives me a thorn in my side and creates a kind of bankruptcy within me so I don’t go. And when I see the directors become devoted to their own personal interests without looking at the purpose of the organizations, the ugly appearance of it makes me reluctant to participate in these organizations.

To those who dream of elections based on administration and party cadres, who dream of enjoying power, try to understand the attitude of the people. Be respectful of public opinion. Respect, respect, commitment and sense of responsibility towards people is the only way to influence public opinion. And keep that in mind and stay close to the people. Be the companion of people’s happiness and sorrow.

I was surprised to see the behavior of an upazila Awami League president. He was once the chairman of a union. Later he lost to another candidate as the chairman candidate. At that time he was the General Secretary of Upazila Awami League. Kulkinara never thought that people could behave so violently and rudely the entire time. Gunijan was probably one of his dislikes at the reception. He did not even stand up from sitting during the distribution of that guni’s crest. I always hear different stories about his activities and behavior from afar. So I am never face to face with him. I was sitting in the audience row of the program and observing his behavior from a distance. And again and again I was surprised and regretted.

I was thinking that maybe he is not the only champion in these behaviors. The behavior, demeanor and attitude of field level party leaders may be like this. We regularly hear stories of such ritual use from the media. Party leaders at various levels may have started thinking of themselves as owners. The people here are subjects or people living in their Daya Dakshina. And so, if they get the party symbol in the election, they are sure that they have won.

We don’t know why Jahangir, who built a mountain of wealth through fake business, was nominated for an important city corporation like Gazipur. We also don’t know who worked to get him nominated in the past. And we don’t know why or why he was later fired, removed from the post of mayor. There are questions about the process by which he was dismissed, whether his statement was heard, whether he was given an opportunity to defend himself. Jahangir came to the media and repeatedly complained that no one listened to him. He said that he had made hundreds of attempts to meet the party chief but failed in several statements that were published in the media.

Jahangir wants to be an independent candidate in this election. His nomination paper has been declared cancelled. It is not for us to judge whether the argument for cancellation of nomination was lame or strong. But we have no doubt that Jahangir is a very intelligent and clever man. I think he is very skilled and tactful in the field of politics. His proof is that he is a very unfamous and ordinary person, who won the election by standing his own mother as a candidate for the mayorship of this important city corporation in the vicinity of the capital Dhaka. It is natural that the government and the entire administrative machinery will stand against Jahangir and his mother Zayda Khatun in this election. Zayda Khatun’s victory in this hostile environment is a warning. A dire warning ahead of the upcoming national elections.

Although I am personally opposed to the selection of party symbols in local elections. Local elections should be free of party symbols. Local government should be free from party influence. That is my personal wish.

Dear party leaders, listen to the mind of the common people, please. We are sure that there are errors in the way information reaches you. Or you have the information but are stubborn. A kind of pride may have crept into you. You have become very confident.

We learn in childhood that expansion is the ‘root of pride’.
