In the first eight days of this September, 57 people were infected with dengue. Only 17 people have been admitted in Chittagong Medical in the first seven days of this month. One died.
It has been found that dengue patients are increasing in Chittagong since last June. According to the information of the Civil Surgeon’s office, 17 people in June this year, 50 people in July and 76 people in August were admitted to the hospital with dengue infection in hospitals other than Chamek Hospital. Last year, no dengue patients were found in June, but 7 in July and 39 in August. Apart from this, 69 dengue patients were admitted to Chittagong Medical in the last eight months from January to August. In total, 292 people were infected with dengue in Chittagong this year. They get treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, from Thursday morning to noon, 11 dengue patients were admitted to Chittagong Medical, 2 to Chittagong General Hospital, 7 to Bangladesh Institute of Tropical Infectious Diseases (BITID) Hospital, and 14 to private Chittagong Mother and Child Hospital. Health department officials said that apart from this, dengue patients are being admitted to various public and private hospitals in the city and district.
