Minibar in Banani’s flat, 1 arrested with huge amount of foreign liquor

The Narcotics Control Directorate has arrested a rich businessman named Salim Sattar along with a large quantity of foreign drugs.

He was arrested in a raid on Banani in the capital on Monday. Salim Sattar is the director of Samah Razor Blades (Balaka Blades) Industries, a subsidiary of the GMG Group.

Those related to the operation said that on the basis of specific information, the operation was conducted at his Banani flat on Monday afternoon. At that time, cocaine, MDMA, LSD, high dose cannabis or kush, cannabis chocolates and cakes and foreign liquor were recovered from there. Besides, various drug paraphernalia was recovered.

The arrested Salim Sattar lives permanently in Switzerland. He claims to be a citizen of Switzerland and Canada.

A young woman named Saima Mustafa Shashi was found in his flat during the arrest. He is an Honors student at BRAC University.
She claims to be Selim’s wife and says that they got married 5 months ago. She is fertile. His village home is Senbagh in Noakhali.

When asked about the allegations of drug use and business, she said that she does not know whether her husband is involved in these illegal businesses or not.

Rasheduzzaman, Deputy Director (North) of the Narcotics Control Department, Dhaka Metro Region, said that Salim Sattar was arrested based on specific information. He is a professional drug dealer behind a life of luxury.

Those involved in the operation said that it was initially believed that there was movement of elite people in his flat. Basically he was buying and selling drugs in his close and familiar circles.

Due to his regular trips abroad, he used to secretly bring consignments of drugs. The CCTV footage of the building is being reviewed to gather information about the intruders in his flat.
