Dhaka-Colombo direct flight of Sri Lanka’s FitzAir has started

Dhaka, April 26, 2024 (BASS): Sri Lanka’s Fitz Airlines has launched direct flights from Dhaka to Colombo. Initially, Fitzair flights will go to Colombo from Dhaka every two days i.e. Sunday and Wednesday. Return flights from Colombo to Dhaka will operate on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
Air Vice Marshal M Mofidur Rahman, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority, officially inaugurated the Dhaka-Colombo direct flight of FitzAir at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka last Tuesday.
Md. Bahauddin Mia, chief executive officer of Sri Lanka-based FitsAir GSA Bengal Airlift Limited, said that the minimum fare for FitsAir Dhaka-Colombo return ticket is around 32 thousand taka. Passengers will get 30 kg check-in baggage allowance and 7 kg hand baggage allowance. FitsAir operates flights on this route with Airbus A-320 aircraft. Currently, only Sri Lankan Airlines is operating flights on the Dhaka-Colombo route.
Dharampal Werakkodi, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka posted in Dhaka, Barrister Mehnaz Mannan, Chairman of Bangladesh GSA Bengal Airlift Limited of Fits Air, Chief Executive Officer Md. Bahauddin Mia, Director Faika Nasser, Chief Operating Officer Sumayez Iqbal were present at the inauguration ceremony.
FitsAir applied to the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority to operate the flight in 2023.
