The court has ordered death penalty to five people for the kidnapping and murder of a cow trader named Chitta Mia (45) of Diakul area of ​​Chandanish Upazila of Chittagong.

Bandarban District and Sessions Judge at around one o’clock on Tuesday. Fazle Elahi Bhuiyan gave this verdict.

In addition, the court has ordered five people who were sentenced to death for the crime of removing the evidence of the crime to be sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk 10,000. After the abduction, the murder took place in September 2007.

Those sentenced to death are Uchingnu Marma (22), Ubaching Marma (30), Chingnu Mong Prakash Hada (23), Mongnumong Marma Prakash Mongnu (50). They are residents of Luline Hedman Para, District Headquarter Upazila. The other accused Mangthu Marma Prakash Mangkyasingh. His home is in the Lulainn Purnabasan neighborhood.

Ray Aung Marma was acquitted as the charges against him were not proved in the case.

Administrative officer in charge of district and session judge court. Kamrul Hasan said that the victim Mia is the son of deceased Anu Mia of Diakul area of ​​Chandanish Upazila of Chittagong. Little Mia being a cow trader bought a cow from accused No. 1 Uchingnu Marma with an earnest money of two thousand rupees. Later, he disappeared after going to the market in Hansama Para area of ​​Rowangchari Upazila of Bandarban district to fetch the cow with the remaining money. Later, the police arrested Uchingnu Marma and confessed to the murder when interrogated. According to his confession, on September 16, 2007, along with the magistrate, they went to the spot and dug the ground to recover the victim’s little Mia’s throat slit.

The victim’s brother was accused of being involved in this incident. Amju Mia became the plaintiff and filed a case at Bandarban Sadar police station on the same day. On December 31 of the same year, the police filed a charge sheet against five people.

District and Sessions Judge Court PP Advocate Md. Iqbal Karim confirmed this information and said that the court has awarded death sentence to five people. One was acquitted. The court sent Ching Nu Mong Prakash Hada to jail.
