The District Health Department has ordered an investigation into this matter. The name of the deceased health officer is Priyanka Nandi. It is known that Suchintya Nandi of Polbar Hooghly got married to Priyanka Dam of Jalpaiguri a couple of years ago. They lived on rent in Ram Mandir area of ​​Chunchura. Priyanka joined the work of Polba Block Health Department in 2021.

On September 5, she gave birth to a baby boy in a private nursing home in Chunchura. But after the caesarean, his physical condition gradually deteriorated and he was quickly shifted to the ICU. As the condition did not improve, he was admitted to Amri Hospital in Kolkata. Priyanka died at 9.30 am the next day. Priyanka’s husband Achintya Nandi complained to District Chief Health Officer Rama Bhuiya on Friday that his wife died due to the negligence of the nursing home. The chief health officer said the nursing home has been besieged. An inquiry committee has been constituted. After receiving the report from there, the next steps will be taken.
