In that case, they are going to have a strong clash with Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Mukesh Ambani’s company (Reliance acquired Campa Cola) capitalized on nostalgia to capture the soft drink market.
Note that once ‘Campa Cola’ was India’s answer to ‘Coca Cola’. Three and a half centuries ago in pre-globalization India, the young generation enjoyed this soft drink made in India. It also had its own exclusive market like Thumbs Up, Limca, Gold Spot. But, unable to compete with Coca-Cola’s booming business in the post-globalisation Indian market, the soft drink made by Delhi’s Pure Drinks Group was soon cut short. Orange and lemon flavored drinks were also produced under this brand name.

Coca-Cola buys Pearl’s brands. And the camper business stopped. Tried to come back several times without success. The last attempt was in 2019. But due to lack of capital, the business has closed again. Mukesh Ambani’s conglomerate recently announced the launch of a short-term consumer goods business through Reliance Retail. They have started the contract process with various brands.
Three more drinks are slated to hit the market in October in time for Diwali.
