Alamdanga Alamdanga Upazila of Chuadanga, two people died within an hour due to intense heat in Beguarkhal village of Nagdah Union.

Two women named Ashura Khatun (25) and Ayesha Begum (70) died at 9:30 am on Monday (April 22) while taking rice to the field for their husbands.

It is known that both of them are residents of Beguarkhal village.

According to local sources, Anwar Hossain of Beguarkhal village went to work in the field without eating early in the morning. Around 9:30 AM, wife Ashura Khatun was taking rice to the field for her husband. Before reaching her husband’s field, Ashura Khatun fell to the ground after getting caught in the field. Ashura died when field farmers reached the spot and rushed him to a doctor. The Ashura-Anwar couple have a seven-year-old daughter.

An hour later, Ayesha Begum, wife of Akkas Ali of the same village, died at 10:30 am. He was panting in the intense heat of the past few days.

Rashedul Islam, a village doctor who was present at the scene, said that Ayesha Begum fell ill after several days of intense heat. He said that both died of heat stroke.
