Wife and daughter beaten to death while listening to music on mobile phones

Police arrested Shahidul Islam on the charge of beating his wife and baby girl to death with a bamboo mat in Nawabganj of Dinajpur. The thrilling incident took place in Paschimpara area of ​​Hayatpur village (Chinirchara) of Daudpur UP of Nawabganj upazila around 8:30 pm on Saturday. The detained Shahidul Islam (37) is the son of Sohrab Ali of Hayatpur (Chinirchara) village of Daudpur UP of Nawabganj upazila. The deceased in this incident are – Nawabganj upazila Daudpur UP Hayatpur (Chinirchara) village Md Paschimpara area. Shahidul Islam’s wife Morjina Begum and her younger daughter Afrin Jannat (6). Apart from this, their elder son Al Amin (13) is undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical Hospital. According to local sources, this incident happened while listening to music on a mobile phone. Dinajpur Superintendent of Police Shah Iftekhar Ahmed gave a press briefing on the matter yesterday. According to the source of the case, Shahidul Islam of Hayatpur Chinirchara village of Nawabganj is a wood worker. He regularly goes to work in the morning and returns home in the evening. Went to work last Saturday as usual and got home before sundown. Then went to Daudpur market to repair the bicycle. While going to Daudpur market, he disciplined the children when he was disturbed by the sound of listening to music on the mobile phone. At one stage of the argument, he hit his wife Morjina Begum with a thick bamboo bed. Later, when the children came, they also hit them and left. After returning home from the market around 7:30 pm, he found his wife Morjina Begum (32), son Al Amin (13) and daughter Afrin Jannat (6) lying in the courtyard of the house in a bloody state.

Later, neighbors rescued son Al Amin and daughter Afrin Jannat and took them to Nawabganj Upazila Health Complex. There they were sent to Rangpur Medical for advanced treatment after primary treatment. On the other hand, Shahidul Islam took his wife Morjina Begum to Daudpur Bazar by rickshaw. When taken to Aziz, he declared him dead. Then Shahidul took the body of his wife Morjina Begum home. Later, the police got the news and recovered the body of Morjina Begum and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.

Police Inspector (Investigation) Mominuzzaman, the investigating officer of the case, said that Marjina Begum’s husband, the householder Shahidul Islam, was arrested in that case. According to his confession, he hit his wife and two children with a bamboo mat during an argument over the discipline of the children. Two of them died. The victim’s mother filed a case in this incident. Yesterday the accused was sent to Dinajpur Jail.
