DU student commits suicide by jumping from the roof of a multi-storey building

A student of Dhaka University (DU) has reportedly committed suicide from the roof of a multi-storey building in Japan Garden City in the capital Adabar. Her name is Jaina Habib Prapti (22).

She was a second year student in the accounting department of DU. Receipt is the youngest of the two children of Habibul Aziz of Noakhali Sadar.

The incident took place at around 5:30 pm on Wednesday at Building No. 16 in Japan Garden City. After the incident, he was rescued and sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Witnesses said that after the Asr prayers, there was a sudden loud noise. Then they ran and saw a bloody man lying on the ground. It seems to have jumped from the roof. Because his whole body was crushed.

Motaleb, a security guard at the building, said he was sitting on the ground floor of the building around 5:30 pm. Suddenly something seemed to fall from the roof. I ran quickly and saw someone lying down in a bloody state. He lived with his family on the second floor of the building.

DMP’s Mohammadpur Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Mujib Patwari said, “Initially, we are of the opinion that the girl has committed suicide.” A suicide note was recovered from the roof. In the suicide note, he mentioned the long frustration in his life. We recovered the body for autopsy and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.
