About 55 thousand students are getting primary education scholarship in Joypurhat
Jaipurhat, September 21, 2022 (BSS): In order to ensure primary education for all, 54 thousand 547 students studying in primary schools of the district are getting scholarships provided by the government at the primary level. Children students received 11 crore 3 lakh 91 thousand 925 taka till December 21.
Sources of District Primary Education Office said that the present education-friendly government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to ensure education for all as per the election promise of increasing the attendance rate of students in schools, preventing dropouts, increasing the quality of education and ensuring 100% attendance in schools. In the light of the educational development program, the education stipend program was launched. In Joypurhat district 54 thousand 547 children studying from 1st to 5th standard are getting the education stipend money given by the government. The number of which is 11 crore 3 lakh 91 thousand 925 taka. Scholarship based students include 11 thousand 175 students of 1st class, 10 thousand 970 students of 2nd class, 10 thousand 997 students of 3rd class, 10 thousand 824 students of 4th class, and 11 thousand 285 students of 5th class. Assistant District Primary Education Officer Md. Rezoan Hossain said that the stipend has been distributed till December 2021. 80% school attendance and 40 marks in each subject is mandatory for child students to get the scholarship. As a result, the education scholarship program has been recognized as a successful program of the government. By doing this, it has been possible to ensure 100% attendance of children in school. On the other hand, the government has paid another 5 crore 92 lakh 47 thousand taka to 403 government primary schools of the district for the purchase of educational materials (pest allowance), Assistant District Primary Education Officer Md Rezowan Hossain said.
