Bangladesh is getting the aroma of victory

Ireland is going to be crushed by Bangladesh’s run hill. The Irish batting line-up has collapsed like a house of cards in pursuit of a big target. The visitors lost 8 wickets to score 118 runs in the face of Taskin-Ibadat’s cannon. With no recognized batter on the wicket, the Tigers are now in complete control of the match.

Ireland collected 118 runs after losing 8 wickets at the end of 26 overs. George Dockrell is at the wicket with 25 runs.

Chasing the daunting target of 339 runs given by Bangladesh, Ireland were initially under pressure due to slow batting. Taskin-Mustafizra squeezed the two Irish openers Stephen Dhoni and Paul Sterling from both ends. The visitors did not lose any wicket in the first six overs but put up 23 runs on the scoreboard. And the required run rate of the Irish increased to over 7.

The two Arish openers then tried to play aggressively to reduce the initial pressure. They got some success in the counter attack. The Irish scored 28 runs in the last 4 overs of the power play. At the end of the opening power play, Ireland added 51 runs to the scoreboard without a wicket. After that, the opening pair of the Irish could not go much further. Shakib Al Hasan brought Dhoni back to the dressing room before it became dangerous. He scored 34 off 38 balls before being caught behind the wicket in the second ball of the 12th over by this spinner.

Paul Sterling could not last long after Dhoni’s return. This opener stopped for 22 runs with a four and a six each. Ebadat Hossain bowled the second ball of the 13th over slightly short length. Realizing that in advance, Sterling went to pull but due to the extra bounce of the ball, this opener could not do the timing properly. The ball touched the edge of his bat and fell into Mushfiqur’s gloves. Mushfiqur Rahim was excellent behind the wicket.

After returning Sterling in the previous over, Ebadat Hossain also returned Harry Taktor in his next over. Just like a carbon copy of the previous over! The only difference was the batter, with Tactor replacing Sterling. This time too the second ball of the over was shot length and the batter was caught behind the wicket while trying to pull. 3 runs from 8 balls came from Taktor’s bat before returning to Sajghar.

After taking two wickets in two consecutive overs, Tamim attacked the pace from both ends. And Taskin returned the captain’s trust by returning to the bowling. The pacer bowled Barlbirni directly in the third ball of the 16th over. Before that, 5 runs came from the bat of the Irish captain. The Irish could not get a run from any of Taskin’s balls in this over, as a result he got a wicket maiden.

Taskin returned to the attack in his next over and found the wicket again. This time his victim is money. The pacer bowled the first ball of the over at a shot length and kept it outside the off stump, where the wicketkeeper batsman was caught by Yasir Rabi while playing the on side. 6 runs came from his bat. Taskin did not give any runs in the remaining balls of the over, as a result of which this pacer got two wicket maidens in a row.

After losing the first wicket for 60 runs, five top-order batsmen scored 76 runs. George Dockrell and Kurtis Camper tried to pull the team from the brink when the Irish lost 5 wickets for 16 runs.

Both of them tried their best in the sixth wicket. However, he was helpless in front of the bowling attack of Bangladesh. The visitors crossed a hundred in their pair. But the pair did not go far after the team’s runs touched three digits. Nasum Ahmed broke this pair by returning Camper who scored 16 runs.

Nasum bowled the fourth ball of the 24th over to full length off and on middle stump. Camper missed the line while defending due to the slight turn of the ball. When the ball hit the leg directly, the umpire responded to Nasum’s request. But this Irish all-rounder could not be satisfied with that. As a result, he took a review. But even that did not save him.

Nasum returned to bowling in his next over and became even more formidable. The spinner also sent back Andrew McBrien after trapping Gareth Delaney leg-before for 1 on the fifth ball of the over. McBrien could not open the run book before Mushfiqur was caught. This is Nasum’s third victim in the innings.
