A BJP central committee member and Bollywood star was heard chanting ‘Go-back’ slogans from a road show in Chanchal, Malda on Wednesday. During his road show, Trinamool workers-supporters protested by raising go-back slogans. There was great excitement about this. However, the situation came under control with the action of the police and security guards.

On Wednesday afternoon, BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty held a road show in Chanchal in support of BJP (BJP) candidate for Malda North Lok Sabha constituency Khagen Murmu. This road show is held from Kaligram to Paharpur in Chanchol. Excitement builds around Mithun’s road show. The grassroots leadership of Chanchal joined the protest. A large police force descended on the streets to deal with the Trinamool protest march. BJP workers-supporters chanted ‘Jai Sriram’ in response to Trinamool’s go-back slogan. However, due to tight police security, no major disturbance took place.
Chanchal Trinamool MLA Niharranjan Ghosh said, “Malda North Lok Sabha Constituency MP Khagen Murmu has not been seen in the area for a long time. Now as the elections (Lok Sabha 2024) are coming, he is doing road shows and meetings in the area with various stars. The BJP candidate was doing a road show with Mithun Chakraborty. He was standing on the street. From grassroots workers to ordinary people protested with go-back slogans. BJP candidate Khagen Murmu said, “A trinamool circle has worked here. In fact, seeing the crowd of people overflowing on the road during Mithun Chakraborty’s road show, the trinamools have become upset. As a result, some trinamools have tried to stir up trouble.”
