Meteorologist Sourish Bandyopadhyay of Alipore Meteorological Department says that there is a heat wave warning in all the districts of South Bengal. Tomorrow i.e. Thursday, severe heat wave will continue in East and West Medinipur, West Burdwan, South 24 Parganas, Jhargram and North 24 Parganas. Severe heatwave warning is in place for East and West Medinipur, West Burdwan, South 24 Parganas, Jhargram, North 24 Parganas, Birbhum and Bankura on Friday. This heat wave will continue across South Bengal on Saturday and Sunday. The Meteorological Office also predicted a heat wave in Kolkata. On Wednesday afternoon, the temperature was 40.5 degrees Celsius in Kolkata. By the end of April, the temperature in Kolkata can exceed 41 degrees.

Scattered rain is likely in these five districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri on Friday. However, there is a heat wave warning in Malda, North and South Dinajpur. Hot and uncomfortable weather will prevail over Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and several parts of Cooch Behar.
