Lok Sabha polls are underway. Second round of voting on Friday. Before that, Trinamool commander Abhishek Banerjee warned to break up the BJP. BJP hurled sarcasm as ’empty voice’ for the counter-inauguration.

Abhishek’s road-show was on Wednesday at Jalangi in Murshidabad. At the end of that road-show, Trinamool All India General Secretary said, “Taaps Roy was taken to BJP by fear of ED. They don’t have people, so they have to take people from the grassroots and make candidates. Incidentally, within 48 hours of Tapas Roy joining the BJP, BJP MLA Mukutmani Adhikari joined the Trinamool on March 7. Trinamool nominated him for Ranaghat Lok Sabha. He also resigned from the post of MLA. Trinamool has nominated two more MLAs Krishna Kalyani and Biswajit Das, who won on BJP tickets in Khatayakalam 2021 Assembly, for Raiganj and Bangaon constituencies respectively. They also resigned from the post of MLA.

Abhishek said on Wednesday, “10 more people are in line. I will open the door on time. I will remove this party from Bengal.” Earlier, after the 2021 assembly polls, Abhishek had said several times, “I am not opening the door. BJP will rise if it is opened.

Trinamool started opening its doors after the 2021 assembly polls. It started with Mukul Roy, the party’s one-time All India General Secretary and winner of Krishnanagar North on a BJP ticket. After that, one by one, many MLAs left the lotus and took the grass flag. BJP’s number of MLAs fell from 77 to 69. Two BJP MPs Babul Supriya and Arjun Singh also joined Trinamool. Babul is now the minister of the state. However, Arjun returned to the BJP and this time also became a candidate in Barrackpore. Along with this, Rajeev Banerjee and Sabyasachi Dutta returned from BJP to Trinamool. Abhishek spoke about 10 more MLAs on Wednesday.

BJP leader Rahul Singh sneered at Abhishek’s insulting statement as ’empty noise’. He said, “The door should be opened during the voting period. When will it open? In fact many people from Trinamool are looking forward to join BJP. So he is saying all this. Actually behind the door there will be no one but Mamta and Abhishek towards Trinamool. That is why he is saying all this.
