Kalighater Kaku | Calcutta High Court is not happy with forensic report of Sujay Krishna Bhadra by ED dgtl

--

After a long tussle, the ED got hold of the voice sample of ‘Kalighater Kaku’ alias Sujaykrishna Bhadra in the initial recruitment ‘corruption’ case. Submitting that report to the court, the central agency said, what they suspected, has been found. However, it was not made clear which conversations the voice samples were matched with.

However, Calcutta High Court Judge Amrita Singh was not satisfied with the report about that voice. He expressed dissatisfaction that the ED report was short.

ED is investigating the recruitment ‘corruption’ case in the primary. A report on the progress of the investigation in that case was to be submitted to the court on Wednesday. On the basis of that investigation, Justice Singh ordered to test the voice sample of ‘Kaku’. Recently ED received the report. It was submitted to the court on Wednesday. With the report, the ED said that the suspicions they had about the voice of ‘Kaku’ have been confirmed. The report supports that suspicion.

I don’t see how any office gives jobs, but will all schools be closed in Bengal? Mamta’s question

The report submitted by the ED to the court on Wednesday is five pages long. It contains information about the voice of ‘Kaku’ across three pages. The remaining two pages contained the overall investigation report of the ED in this case. The judge expressed his displeasure at this. Why is the ED investigation report so brief? Justice Singh raised the question.

In the report submitted by the ED to the court, the last two pages give an account of the assets seized by the ED so far, based on Sujaykrishna’s sources and in the original case as a whole. The central agency has announced the confiscation of a total of 134 crores worth of property. Justice Singh’s question, “Why is the amount of confiscated property so low in the corruption that has been going on since 2014?” Why is the amount of money so low?

The ED informed the court that the process of confiscating some other properties is underway. Permission has been sought from the concerned department for the same. The investigation is going on every day. But the judge could not be completely satisfied with this statement of ED.

Lawyer Dhiraj Trivedi is fighting this case in court on behalf of ED. Apart from this, the main litigants were represented by Firdous Shamim and Sudipta Dasgupta. The next hearing of this case will be on June 12.

It may be noted that on Wednesday, along with ED, CBI also submitted a report in this regard to the court in a cover letter. The CBI again requested to interrogate Sujaykrishna separately at the Bichar Bhawan in Kolkata. They have asked for permission to interrogate the recruitment case itself.

Sujaykrishna was arrested by the ED in the recruitment corruption case. After that he was in the hospital for a long time. Sujaykrishna also underwent heart surgery in a private hospital. ED repeatedly tried to take him into custody. However, it was not successful. The Central Investigation Agency has also pointed fingers at the SSKM authorities in this regard. There was also a long struggle over the collection of his voice samples. After that, on January 3, Joka was taken to ESI Hospital and the voice sample of the ‘Cuckoo of Kalighat’ was collected. After that he was brought back to SSKM. He is currently there.
