Rupayan Gangopadhyay: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to the state again on the day of the second phase of voting. Strategically, he will hold meetings near the polling centers in the second phase. Next Friday, the second phase of voting in the state will be held in Darjeeling, Raiganj and Balurghat. On that day, the Prime Minister will hold meetings in North and South Malda.

Malda is a minority-dominated district, and BJP did well in 2019 by polarizing Hindu votes. BJP’s Khagen Murmu won North Malda. And BJP’s Srirupa Mitra Chowdhury lost by a small margin in South Malda. This time too the Prime Minister will hold the meeting in support of those candidates. But at the same time, he will keep an eye on the constituencies where the Lok Sabha polls will be held on Friday.
