The US Senate has approved a $95 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. President Joe Biden is expected to sign the bills on Wednesday.

The Senate approved the bills passed by the US House of Representatives on Saturday evening. It has 61 billion dollars for Ukraine. The Pentagon says aid could begin arriving in the war-torn country within days.

Four bills on the foreign aid package passed the Senate by a vote of 79-18. President Joe Biden welcomed the issue in a statement Tuesday night.

In the statement, Biden said, this assistance will make our country and the world safer. We support our friends who are defending themselves from terrorists like Hamas and dictators like Putin (Russian President Vladimir Putin).

Reacting to the Senate vote, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said it strengthened America’s role as a beacon of democracy and leader of the free world.

After Biden’s signature, the bill becomes law, leaving no obstacles for the Biden administration to provide military and humanitarian aid to Israel and Ukraine.

The package includes $26.4 billion in military aid for Israel and $9.1 billion in humanitarian aid for Gaza. There is also $8.1 billion in aid for partners in the Asia-Pacific region, including Taiwan.
