Manipur re-voting in 11 booths

The booths that will be re-polled include Sario in Bameng Assembly Constituency in East Kameng District, Longte Loth in Niapin Assembly Constituency in Kurung Kumei, Dingser, Bagia Siyum, Jimbari and Lengi Polling Station under Nacho Assembly Constituency in Upper Subansiri District. Apart from this, re-election will also be held in Bogne and Molom booths of Ramgong assembly constituency in Siang district.

BJP hopes south, Congress says headwinds

Incidentally, polling for two Lok Sabha constituencies as well as for the Assembly took place in Arunachal last Friday. The ruling BJP has already won seven of the state’s 60 assemblies unopposed. Congress formed the government in Arunachal after winning the 2014 assembly polls, but Chief Minister Pema Khandu later joined the BJP with most of the MLAs. In the 2019 polls, Padma Shibir got an absolute majority there. Although there are opposition parties like Congress and NPP this time, it is considered that BJP’s recapture of power is virtually certain.
