Arabic is one of the major languages ​​spoken in the world. Arabic influences all languages, including the main languages ​​and dialects scattered across different countries. Along with other languages, Arabic language has taken a big place in our Bengali language. We use numerous Arabic words daily in family, social, political, economic, religious and cultural arenas. Along with that Arabic is our religious language. The language of paradise. The language of the Prophet (PBUH) is Arabic. The language of Quran and Hadith is Arabic. Therefore, the basic and important language of Islam and Muslims is Arabic. The source of Muslims’ life is the Qur’an; And it was revealed in Arabic language. Allah Ta’ala says: ‘Thus have I sent down the Qur’an as a law in Arabic.’ (Surah Rad: verse 37).

‘In this form have We sent down the Qur’an in Arabic and detailed in it the warning, so that those who fear or it may be an admonition.’ (Surah Taha: verse 113).

‘This Qur’an in Arabic is free of inflection, so that people may be careful.’ (Surah Jumar: Verse 28).
‘I have revealed the Qur’an in Arabic. That you may understand.’ (Surah Yusuf: verse 2).

‘I have revealed the Qur’an in clear Arabic.’ (Surah Shura: verse 195).
Allah Ta’ala has repeatedly said that the Qur’an was clearly revealed in Arabic as a warning, as a command, as a warning, as a precaution. It is clear from this how important the Arabic language is in Muslim life. It is very necessary and obligatory for everyone to acquire proficiency in Arabic.

A quote of Hazrat Umar (RA) is recommended in learning Arabic. The second Caliph Hazrat Umar (RA) said: ‘Learn Arabic. It is part of your religion.’ (Masbukuz Zahab fi Fadlil Arab wa Sharful Ilmi Ala Sharfin Nasbi: 1/9).

A saying of Allama Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) is worth remembering in this regard. He said, ‘Allah Ta’ala has sent down the Quran in Arabic language. And ordered the beloved Prophet (PBUH) to preach the Quran and Sunnah in Arabic. Din’s first followers were Arabic speakers. So there is no option but to acquire this language for deep knowledge of Deen. Therefore practicing Arabic is a part of religion and a symbol of respect for religion. (Majmool Fatawa: 8/343). From the worldly point of view, millions of people of our country live in Arab countries in search of livelihood. So they have to learn Arabic language willingly or unwillingly. On the other hand, learning Arabic is essential to become a human scholar. Because he must be a scholar in Arabic to issue a fatwa on religion. Otherwise, he cannot give a fatwa about religion. Although he can call upon Deen. The Arabic language is inextricably linked to our daily lives.

International Arabic Language Day is December 18. On this day in 1973, the 28th session of the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution No. 3190 to recognize Arabic as the sixth official language. Later, in the 190th session of UNESCO held in 2012, December 18 was declared as the International Arabic Language Day. Since then, December 18 is celebrated as the International Arabic Language Day.

International Mother Language Day is February 21. On this day Salam, Barkat, Rafiq and Jabbar of Bangladesh gave their lives for the language, which was a sacrifice for the only language in the world court. The world court has evaluated this sacrifice of Bangladeshis through the decision to celebrate the International Mother Language Day. In 1999, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) proposed to celebrate International Mother Language Day on 21 February by the United Nations General Assembly. Later, the six official languages ​​of the United Nations were declared as separate International Language Days. March 20 is International French Language Day. April 20 is International Chinese Language Day. April 23 International English Language Day, June 6 International Russian Language Day, October 21 International Spanish Language Day and December 18 International Arabic Language Day.

Most of the people of this country have soul connection with Arabic language. The people of this country respect the Arabic language. Arabic is the mother tongue of about 28 million people of the world. 25 million people use Arabic as a second language. Arabic is the official language of 25 countries. On the other hand, Arabic language is very important for Bangladesh in economic terms. Remittances are considered one of the strengths of the country’s economy; And the majority of these remittances are received from Arabic speaking countries. When the people of this country go to Arab countries, they get into a lot of trouble because they don’t know the language. If they knew Arabic well, they could strengthen their position in Arab countries. They could have earned more of their fair privileges. Therefore, in order to strengthen the economy of Bangladesh, Arabic language needs to be given importance in the state.

From the religious point of view, there is no alternative except Arabic language. If you want to know any law of Islam, you need to know Arabic language. Arabic language is necessary to find out the exact meaning of Quran and Hadith. No one can issue a fatwa on any Islamic matter without studying or mastering the Arabic language. In order to teach tafseer or the interpretation of the Qur’an to others, he must know the Arabic language in order to speak the rules. So we can see that Arabic language is very necessary for us in all aspects. So we have to be more enthusiastic about learning Arabic language. In case of further spread of this language, steps should be taken by the government.

The nation that lives around the language, their culture and culture blossoms in that language. The culture of a nation is carried by the language of that nation. The more that language reaches the doorstep of the people, the more the culture of the nation will reach them. As the language of Islam is Arabic, Arabic language carries the culture of Islam. To understand the Islamic culture, one must understand the Arabic language. Muslim rule has been going on in this country for a long time. Muslims have been living here for hundreds of years, but how many Muslims know and understand Arabic? In this case the British have been successful. Their language has been imposed on us. Now many of us are using English language and words daily. It is the demand of time to make the practical side of our Arabic language easier. We need to be more proactive in speaking, writing and understanding Arabic in our classrooms.
