A madrasa student named Mahia (17) died after falling from the 4th floor roof due to the negligence of the authorities of a private madrasa in Manikganj.
The deceased madrasa student is the daughter of Al Mamun of Kaliakair area of Singair upazila of Mahia district. He was studying in the Department of Hifz at Ayesha Siddika Mahila Madrasa in Manikganj Town, Bhul Jaira area.
A local resident, who did not wish to be named, said that some of us were sitting and talking near the madrasa. Suddenly, I heard the sound of something falling from above. I went and saw that a girl fell from the roof and was seriously injured. Later, when I took him to the hospital, I was informed that he died there. Such a big building houses many children. But there is no security here. There is no roof railing. If there was a railing, such a big accident would not have happened today. It is complete negligence of Madrasa authorities.
Madrasa teacher Sharmin Akhter said that some students went to the roof while playing sports on the roof of the madrasa in the morning. While running on the roof, he suddenly lost control and fell down from the roof of the madrasa building. Later, he was rescued in critical condition and taken to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
The doctor on duty at Manikganj Sadar Hospital said that the girl was brought to the hospital with serious injuries. When his condition worsened, he was referred to Dhaka Medical College after first aid. Heard he died on the way.
In this incident, it was not possible to contact the principal of Madras, Hafez Maulana Moinuddin, even by phone several times.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station. Habil Hossain said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. No one complained to the police in this incident. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation if complaints are received.
