Heat wave is going on all over India. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha elections are going on.

Five deaths were reported due to extreme heat during polling.

The incident took place on Friday (April 26) in the second phase of polling in the Indian state of Kerala. Although no lives were lost in violence on this day, the terrible heat wave claimed lives.

Among the dead, four voters are said to be a polling agent. The voters are residents of Malappuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Alappuzha respectively in the state.

It is known that a voter named Chandran (68) fell ill after voting in Ottapalam of the state. Later, when he was taken to a local hospital, the doctors said that he died of heatstroke. The temperature there was 38 degrees Celsius that day.

Besides, a madrasa teacher named It Siddiqui (63) died of heatstroke in Trirur of Mallapuram district on his way home after voting. Although the temperature in that region was 34 degrees Celsius. But the relative humidity in the air was 60 percent.

Meanwhile another person named Kombottail Kandan (76) died on his way back home after voting. He is a resident of Vilayodi area. The incident took place in Ambalapuzha area of ​​Alappuzha district. The temperature in this area was 33 degrees Celsius. But the relative humidity in the air was 68 percent. Another voter named Somarajan (82) returned home after casting his vote at booth number 138 of SNVT High School. Later, he also died of heatstroke, according to family sources.

On the other hand, polling agent Anis Ahmed (66) of Bamjot ‘Left Democratic Front’ (LDF) was in charge of booth number 16 of Kozhikode Town. Suddenly he fell ill. But when he was taken to the hospital, the doctors said that he died of heat stroke.

This Lok Sabha election in India will be held in seven phases. The second phase of the election has ended today and there are five more phases left. Which will end on June 1. Result declaration on 4th June. Five citizens lost their lives in the polls this summer.

Speaking to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during the election campaign on Thursday (April 25), it is our misfortune that elections are held at this time every year. And another time though the results were announced in mid-May, this time the Election Commission has delayed the elections to favor the BJP.
