Today is the 41st death anniversary of Khan Sahib AF Mohammad Nurullah

The 41st death anniversary of late AF Mohammad Nurullah alias Khan Saheb, a renowned social worker, educationist and political personality of Kuliarchar Upazila of Kishoreganj will be celebrated today through religious ceremonies. On the day, recitation of the Quran, visitation of the deceased’s grave and prayer ceremony will be held in a family manner to seek the forgiveness of the soul of the deceased. Khan Saheb AF Mohammad Nurullah English 1900, Bengali 8 Bhadra 1307 was born in Khadkamara village of upazila in a noble Muslim family. He passed away at the age of 84 on this day in 1984. During his half-century of life as a public representative, he earned a wide reputation by engaging himself in public service at the field level. He was awarded the title of ‘Khan Saheb’ in 1945 in recognition of his work. The road from Kandigram-Dariakandi to Kuliarchar Bazar has been named ‘Khan Saheb Moulvi AF Mohammad Nurullah Road’ in memory of the deceased. After completing his education from Dhaka University in 1927, Khan Saheb took a vow of social service and started his career as a head teacher in the local Tatarkandi school. One by one, he served unopposed in his working life as president and chairman for 42 consecutive years in the board council of Culiarchar. He was a member and vice chairman of the defunct Kishoreganj local board, a member of the Mymonsih district board for 22 consecutive years, the first sub-registrar of Kuliachar, chairman of the debt arbitration board, president of the madrasa and mosque committee.

Nurul Millat, the 6th son of this public leader, is the former chairman of Kuliarchar Upazila Parishad and currently he is serving as the president of Upazila BNP. He prayed to everyone for forgiveness of the departed soul.
