In Shariatpur’s Nariya, on the advice of an estranged lover, his wife Munni Begum handed her husband over to the estranged lover in the dark of night after taking sleeping pills with rice. After that, the police recovered the body of husband Muhammad Ali from a pond.

On Friday (April 26) afternoon, wife Munni Begum was narrating the disappearance of Mohammad Ali while sitting at her husband’s house in Rari Kandi area of ​​Japsa Union of Nariya Upazila.

Earlier on Thursday (April 25) afternoon, the police recovered the body of Mohammad Ali Madbar from the pond of Chan Mia Madbar, the former chairman of Domsar Union Parishad of Shariatpur Sadar Upazila.

Deceased Mohammad Ali Madbar (40) is the son of deceased Amin Uddin Madbar of Japsa village of Naria upazila of Shariatpur. He was a CNG driver by profession.

According to local and police sources, Munni Begum got married to Mohammad Ali Madbar about 9 years ago. They have two daughters in their family. Munni Begum often ran away with her estranged lover Mamun Chowkidar. A few days ago, Munni Begum had run away with Mamun. But thinking of the young children Mohammad Ali Madbar brought his wife Munni back again. Even then the estranged lover Mamun Chowkidar used to communicate with Munni Begum in various ways. The day after Mohammad Ali Madbar went missing last Wednesday night, the police recovered his body and sent it to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Muhammad Ali’s relatives learned from the hospital that Muhammad Ali had taken sleeping pills. When Munni Begum came home and asked about the matter, Munni Begum admitted that she gave her husband to her estranged lover Mamun and his companions after taking sleeping pills with rice. After that Munni Begum was arrested and the local people informed the police.

Munni Begum, wife of deceased Muhammad Ali Madbar, said, I left. After that, Muhammad Ali brought me back to trouble. Even after coming to this house, I contacted Mamun on his mobile phone. Mamun told me, Muhammad Ali filed a case in my (Mamun’s) name. If the case continues then I will harm Muhammad Ali. But I told him, Muhammad Ali will drop the case, no harm done. But he did not listen to me but scared me and said, ‘Today I will give sleeping medicine, this medicine should be given to Muhammad Ali. Otherwise I will kill your daughters.’ I gave Muhammad Ali sleeping pills on the words of Mamun. Then Mamun came and took away Muhammad Ali. When Mamun took Mohammad Ali, there were two other boys with him but I don’t know them. When Muhammad Ali was being taken away, Muhammad Ali was unconscious.

Asif Madbar, the nephew of the deceased, said that the aunt left two or three times. Kakay looked at the baby girls and brought them back again and again. But Kaki was not well. Last Wednesday night, aunt took all the money from uncle first. Then Kaka was given sleeping pills and handed over to the estranged lover Mamun. Mamun is killing my uncle. I want the murderers hanged.

Ayesha Begum, elder sister of the deceased, said,
My brother brought Munni despite leaving again and again. But on Wednesday night, Muni killed my brother with an estranged lover by taking sleeping pills. I want justice for the murder of my brother.

Shariatpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Naria Circle) Ahsan Habib said that there was marital discord in the family of deceased Muhammad Ali. Several complaints were made to the police about the matter. Muhammad Ali’s relatives detained and interrogated his wife in the case of recovering his body. The police came to know about the matter and went to the spot. Police are on the spot, the whole matter is under investigation and legal action will be taken.
