Family members claimed that a woman named Chakkadea Karaipara Hasina Begum (57) of Ward No. 7 of Shivnagar Union of Fulbari Upazila of Dinajpur died of ‘heat stroke’ while cutting grass. Today Friday (April 26) at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, he fell unconscious while cutting grass for cows in the land next to the house.
Shivnagar Union Chairman Chamedul Islam Hasina confirmed the death of Begum.
The chairman said that local people got information and rescued Hasina Begum and took her to Phulbari Upazila Health Complex for treatment. The doctor on duty quickly referred him to Dinajpur. When he was taken to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital, the doctors on duty declared him dead.
In this regard, Fulbari upazila executive officer Mir Md. Al Kamah Tamal said that he heard that a woman named Hasina Begum had died in the heat wave.
The Upazila Nirbahi officer said, ‘We are repeatedly aware of the administration. No one should go out of the house unless absolutely necessary. If you leave the house, you must keep an umbrella and water with you.’
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Mohammad Zafar Arif Chowdhury, after receiving the news of Hasina Begum’s death, searched for the family members.
