Kamrul Ahsan Talukder said, “Dumain Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Shah Asaduzzaman of Madhukhali and UP member Ajit Kumar Biswas participated in the killing of construction workers by swearing to provide security to the people as public representatives. He (Chairman) started the violence of the workers. Later, he went on a rescue mission with the OC (officer-in-charge of the police station), UNOK (upazila executive officer).

The Deputy Commissioner said, ‘AWe did not know about this before the release of two related video clips. After the release of that video, he (Chairman) and the UP member fled. All efforts are being made to arrest them. The UP Chairman did not take his mobile phone with him. For this, he has to be arrested quickly. The police once went very close to Magura and another time to Jessore but could not catch him.

The Deputy Commissioner also said, ‘Letter will be written to the Ministry of Local Government to dismiss the UP chairman and member. This chairman is a habitual criminal. Earlier, he was sacked once for insulting Madhukhali’s UNO and another time for stealing TCB cards. However, he was reinstated twice by the High Court. Seeking the cooperation of everyone including journalists to catch them, the Deputy Commissioner said, in the case of arrest, the helper will be rewarded and the helper’s name will not be disclosed.

Alleging that various circles are trying to take advantage of the incident to divert it to different sectors, the Deputy Commissioner said, ‘Fake IDs are being opened on Facebook and many objectionable posts are being posted abroad. Now it is floating on Facebook. If you see something objectionable on Facebook and inform the district administration, a case will be filed under the Cyber ​​Act. Everyone should be careful about this.’

Two construction workers were beaten to death on charges of setting fire to an idol in a temple adjacent to Panchpalli Government Primary School of Dumain Union in Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur at around eight o’clock on April 18. It was later reported that two brothers were killed in a massacre after the temple was set on fire.

But on April 21, the video footage of the incident spread on social media. In two video images of 15 and 43 seconds, the victims were beaten in the presence of Madhukhali Upazila Awami League member and UP Chairman Shah Asaduzzaman and UP member Ajit Kumar Biswas.
