A 33-year-old youth has been accused of hacking a woman technician to death after going to the concerned electricity office due to high bills. Police have arrested the accused youth.
The victim’s name is Rinku Thait (26) and the killer’s name is Abhijit Pot.
India Today and NDTV reported in a report that this murder took place in the Pune district of the western province of Maharashtra on April 24.
According to the report, the young man had already gone to the office and expressed his dissatisfaction with the electricity bill. But it didn’t work. Later, Abhijit went to the office of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) at Morgaon in Baramati village and hacked the technician Rinku Thait to death.
An officer of Pune’s Supa police station said that Abhijit had earlier complained that his house electricity bill was Rs 570 more. But the electricity office did not take any action regarding his complaint. Angered by this, Abhijit suddenly entered the electricity office on Wednesday morning and attacked Rinku. Rinku was seriously injured. Later he was rescued and taken to the hospital. He died there while undergoing treatment.
In this incident, a case of murder has been filed under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, said the police officer.
